What is VMware Workstation
From Wikipedia: VMware Workstation is a hosted hypervisor that runs on x64 versions of Windows and Linux operating systems[4] (an x86 version of earlier releases was available);[3] it enables users to set up virtual machines (VMs) on a single physical machine, and use them simultaneously along with the actual machine.
As of Jan 7th VMWARE is only available for fac/staff/grad students doing research
How to Install (faculty/students research only)
VMware Fusion is available at no cost to faculty and students in qualifying research groups. To receive a license, if you believe that you qualify, please email support@eng.ua.edu and we will verify your status.
Supported Operating Systems
Available for Windows and Linux.
