What is Revit

Revit software is specifically built for Building Information Modeling (BIM), empowering design and construction professionals to bring ideas from concept to construction with a coordinated and consistent model-based approach. It includes the functionality of all of the Revit disciplines (architecture, MEP, and structure) in one unified interface.
Supported Operating Systems
Revit is only available for Windows. Mac and Linux users will need to install Windows first.
VPN requirement
Connection to campus VPN is not required to license Revit for student version but is required for faculty version.
Downloading and Installing Revit
Revit is available for free for faculty, staff, and students. Go to https://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/featured#free-software and select Revit. Create an account if you don't already have one. When creating an account remember to always use your crimson email. Once you are signed in or your account has been created, scroll to the drop down boxes to select the version of Revit- check your syllabus or contact your instructor for in-class purposes. Then select your operating system, always check "Windows 64-bit" if available. Finally select your language and click INSTALL NOW tab at the bottom of the page.
