What is Altair

By integrating Altair products as part of your studies you will develop the confidence and acquire the skills to design innovative solutions to complex engineering problems.
Supported Operating Systems
FEKO is available for Windows and Linux
VPN requirement
Connection to campus VPN is not required to license FEKO student version but is required for the faculty version.
How to Install (Students)
Students will need to go to https://altairuniversity.com/free-altair-student-edition/ and click "Request Now!"
1. You will need to fill out the form using your school email
2. You will need to input your devices MAC address for Ethernet Host ID
* Click Host ID Tool for Windows * Run the program to get your devices MAC address * Copy and Paste the MAC address into the Ethernet Host ID field
3. Scroll through the agreement and then Accept the terms
4. Wait for validation email (may be in your junk folder)
5. Click the link in the validation email
6. Wait for email from Altair with your .dat license file and links to download the software (can take up to 1 week, may be in junk folder)
7. Once you receive the email save the .dat file to somewhere permanent (like your documents folder or see step 15 once the software is installed)
8. Click FEKO & WinProp in the email to download the software
9. Once the download finishes run the software
10. Click next and accept the terms
11. Leave default install path, click next
12. Choose shortcut options or leave default, click next
13. Leave defaults, click next
14. Click install
15. Once the install is finished you will need to license the software. Follow the instructions on this link https://altairuniversity.com/altair-student-edition-licensing/
*Note: You can follow any of the 3 options to license the software
