About ArcGIS Pro

From wikipedia: ArcGIS is a geographic information system (GIS) for working with maps and geographic information. It is used for creating and using maps, compiling geographic data, analyzing mapped information, sharing and discovering geographic information, using maps and geographic information in a range of applications, and managing geographic information in a database.

ArcGIS standard

As of 8/30/2022 ArcGIS for desktop is going away and will not be usable. You will need ArcGIS Pro. OIT has instructions on how to download and install the software linked below.

Availability

ArcGIS Pro is available for Engineering faculty, staff, and students. Faculty and staff should contact support to arrange installation on UA devices.

Supported Operating Systems

Win10-logo.png ArcGIS is only available for Windows. Mac and Linux users will need to install Windows first.

VPN requirement

Vpn-depends.png There are two ways to license the software. Doing the Organization URL sign in does not require VPN access.
