Supported Operating Systems

Win10-logo.png Aspen is only available for 64-bit Windows. Mac and Linux users will need to install Windows first.

VPN requirement

Vpn-yes.png Connection to campus VPN is required to license Aspen.

How to install

  • Extract the zipped folder
  • Run the extracted setup file (may need to run as administrator)
  • When the software opens click aspenONE Engineering
  • Click INSTALL NOW (you may get an Upgrade Notice popup, click ok)
  • Click install aspenONE products
  • Accept the terms and click next
  • On this page you will see the list of software to be installed. Leave it default except uncheck the Server Products and Tools option. The check box should be white
  • You may get an error that it can't be installed because you are missing Microsoft.NET Framework X.X You can download the file here https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet-framework. Run the file it downloads and install the .NET framework (you will need to close Aspen to install the framework)
  • On the license page use the license server box and input aspen.eng.ua.edu, then click add server. After the server is verified click next. (You may get an "Unable to validate the server" error. Click yes to continue and then click next)
  • On the Summary page click Install Now. If you went to the "Product Configuration" page then you need to go back and uncheck the Server Products and Tools option and make sure Aspen Online is unchecked
