What is AutoCAD

AutoCAD is computer-aided design (CAD) software that architects, engineers, and construction professionals rely on to create precise 2D and 3D drawings.

Downloading AutoCAD to a Windows Computer (not MAC)

AutoCAD is available for free for faculty, staff, and students. Go to https://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/featured#free-software and select AutoCAD. Create an account if you don't already have one. When creating an account remember to always use your crimson email. Once you are signed in or your account has been created, scroll to the drop down boxes to select the version of AutoCAD- check your syllabus or contact your instructor for in-class purposes. Then select your operating system, always check "Windows 64-bit" if available. Finally select your language and click INSTALL NOW tab at the bottom of the page.
