About Mathematica

Mathematica is a computational software program used in scientific, engineering, and mathematical fields within academic and commercial institutions. One of the key components of Mathematica is that it contains numerical computational abilities, as well as symbolic visual capabilities.

Academic uses for Mathematica include teaching simple concepts in the classroom to doing high-level research using some of the world’s largest clusters. Mathematica can be used by faculty as an interactive teaching tool – classroom lectures, assignments and exams can all be created within Mathematica. Additionally, High Performance Computing and data analysis can be performed in Mathematica.

You will need a Wolfram ID to complete the key request form. If you do not already have a Wolfram ID, create one at https://user.wolfram.com. You should use your UA provided (@crimson.ua.edu) email address as your Wolfram ID. You will receive an email from Wolfram to verify your email address and complete the registration process.

To request an activation key, click the following link, login to your Wolfram account, and complete the form: https://user.wolfram.com/portal/requestAK/ade7755b225a6914f201dce3fd12a2a36d63d189

Once you submit the activation key request form, your activation key and a download link for Mathematica will be emailed to the address associated with your Wolfram ID. If you do not receive this email, be sure you have verified your email address when creating your Wolfram ID.
